WHERE I STAND

Arts and culture create substantial community value. I support restoring a fair annual grant process, strengthening creative placemaking and exploring partnerships for a future performance venue without handing the entire cost to taxpayers.

I am open to joining Sue Big Oil if the evidence shows a reasonable opportunity to recover meaningful climate-related costs without disproportionate financial risk.

I want integrated policing with transparent costs, clear service expectations, meaningful Esquimalt representation and a framework that preserves both accountability and a real voice.

I support Development Cost Charges so growth contributes a fair share toward the infrastructure it requires, based on sound projections and fair, strategically designed charges.

Municipal climate action should focus on practical, measurable work: protecting trees, managing water, preparing for extreme heat and designing infrastructure for future conditions.

Reconciliation should shape how Council engages and makes decisions through early, ongoing relationships with the Lekwungen peoples and a clear reconciliation lens.

I support adding housing while protecting mature trees, green streets and neighbourhood identity through early canopy planning, meaningful replacement and better public-realm design.

I want disciplined spending, timely decisions, long-term financial planning and a broader revenue strategy so property taxes are not expected to absorb every new pressure.

I support a connected active transportation network, functional major corridors and proactive traffic calming that protects residential streets before problems become established.

I support growth in the right locations, but infrastructure, transportation, municipal services and financial planning must be considered together before development is approved.

Economic development is not about flashy incentives. I want Esquimalt to offer businesses certainty, reasonable processes, protected commercial space and the conditions to open, stay and grow.

I support following and enforcing the provincial framework first, gathering evidence and adding local restrictions only if Esquimalt can demonstrate a problem that needs solving.

I would use Esquimalt’s voice with regional partners to build a connected transportation system with shared priorities, coordinated investment and clear public measures of success.

I support protecting the Island Rail Corridor and planning for its return as part of an integrated transportation network. Esquimalt should account for rail now through its Official Community Plan, land-use decisions and regional partnerships, while supporting a practical first phase between the West Shore and Esquimalt/Victoria.

I may live a few blocks outside Esquimalt’s municipal boundaries, but it has been my community for more than 15 years through my work, volunteer service, family and commitment to its future.

I believe active transportation should give people safe, realistic choices by connecting the whole journey, coordinating transportation with growth and infrastructure, and designing a system that works for people of different ages and abilities.

Esquimalt and Victoria share public-safety challenges. I support strengthening regional policing, negotiating a fair agreement and ending further spending on a separate Esquimalt police force.
