WHY I'M RUNNING

Politics—at any level—was never my goal. I have watched Esquimalt evolve over the past 15 years, and I see so much opportunity for responsible growth. Navigating change thoughtfully and equitably is a huge responsibility. The decisions that are made in the short term will determine the direction of Esquimalt for decades to come.

The utilization of the Alternative Approval Process (AAP) in 2021 got me fired up. I mean, really fired up. The realization that the long-lasting effects of that decision went almost unnoticed by the public concerned me. We, as a community, must be more engaged in the decisions and processes that work to shape our future.

I am running for the Councillor role to appropriately manage growth and ensure fiscal responsibility that will allow Esquimalt to maintain its vibrancy and diversity. I want to encourage community participation in decision-making and work collaboratively to find options and solutions that are impossible when we operate in isolation.
